Thank you for your interest in Christians Serving Inmates Prison Ministry. We invite you to use this website as a tool to understand our developing ministry. We hope you consider joining us in this ministry. If you share our basic Christian beliefs (see About Us), and if you feel God’s call to minister to “the least of these” in a prison setting, we welcome your participation and partnership with us.
As this ministry continues to grow and evolve, so will this web site. We hope that this web site will allow anyone who is interested to be as fully informed as possible.
We believe that “knowledge is power” – especially when that knowledge motivates and empowers Christians to become involved in bringing Christ’s love into the world around us. We invite you to stay informed, to get personally involved as God calls and leads you, and especially to keep this ministry in your prayers. God is the power behind any effective ministry, and He definitely hears and answers the prayers of his people!
Our goal is simple and can be described in one word: RELATIONSHIPS. Creating and maintaining relationships is the foundation of our program. Through relationships you can create accountability and with accountability you can instill hope and restoration.
The five areas of our focus are designed to change and intercede in the three areas that we believe are the major reasons that offenders and ex-offenders continue the cycle of anti-social and criminal behavior. Those are SELF ESTEEM, ENVIRONMENT and ASSOCIATIONS. Every success story has seen those components change and every failure has one or more of those components unchanged.
Although a faith based group, our program is open to all inmates, regardless of race, creed, religious beliefs or criminal history. We do not lead with the Bible or attempt to convert in the Mentoring phase and Aftercare/Re-Entry part of our program. However, our faith is what drives us and Alpha, Bible study and Family Alpha are just that, Christian fellowship with the opportunity to form a closer relationship with God.
